Character Name: Alec Hardison
Canon: Leverage
Point In Canon: Post S4
Apparent/Actual Ages: Mid 20s
Species:Human
History: https://leverage.fandom.com/wiki/Alec_Hardison
CRAU or AU: N/A

Personality:
The fast summary of Alec Hardison’s personality would be ‘A geek of the first order’, and the Leverage Wiki claims unfairly that he “only knows two things: computers and technology.” He’s smart, extroverted (which he puts down to his growing up as a Jehova’s Witness), and quick with a joke or to try to cheer people up. His worse traits include a touch of overconfidence that sometimes leads to his trying to coast on talent, and a habit of going over the top and of overselling his performances when in a con.

Despite being a professional thief he has always had a strong sense of ethics, picked up from his nana (who took him in from the foster care system). Although he started as a solo hacker he really enjoyed both even his first experience as working as part of a team, and enjoyed becoming one of the good guys and using his sense of justice (even if he is still a thief with little respect for the law).

As well as doing things with computers he also enjoys doing and making things with his hands, and is a competent pickpocket, chemist, makes electronics, is a concert quality violinist, and has committed acts of art forgery (although he’s not enough of an art expert to do this much). He’s also a researcher and planner.

He also at many levels is willing to put up with a lot from those he cares for, including regularly being thrown off buildings by his team despite his fear of heights.

Intended Job at The Carnival: Magician.
Hardison has never done stage magic before in his life - but between his planning, his skills as a designer, the skills he's picked up from his team, and his overblown showmanship he has all the skills he needs. He just needs to put the act together and learn the hard way.

Abilities/Powers/Strengths: Hardison's main power in canon is that he's a world class computer hacker and wealthy enough (through theft and shorting marks) to afford just about any tech he needs (designing some of it himself); he's going to be a fish out of water. But he's a genius who learns fast, and has spent the past few years working with and learning from expert thieves of other sorts (two grifters, a hitter, a mastermind, and a thief) and in particular knows how to plan things out, and how to create and inhabit a persona.

Inventory Upon Arrival: Alec Hardison was in disguise as an FBI agent meaning he's wearing an FBI uniform and FBI windbreaker (something that might not go over well in a carnival). He's carrying a smartphone and USB cable, a button cam, a wallet with cards and ID under the name 'Agent Thomas', a shield (fake FBI badge), an ASP collapsible baton, a Glock, a pair of handcuffs, a single two way radio, a pair of earbuds, a keyring (containing a mix of keys including a CH751 (half the cheap locks in America), and a 1284x (works on most of the Ford Crown Vics in America - cop cars and taxis alike), and a swiss army knife that works as both computer disassembly tools and lockpicks for locks that aren't high security.

He at present has no way of recharging the phone, the earbud communicators, or the two way radio - but is more than capable of making one out of parts when he gets time. The Glock is part of his disguise (it would be notable if an 'FBI Agent' didn't have a gun) but he's incredibly unlikely to use it and if it's not wanted to spice up anyone's plots it would be entirely in character for it to be a replica.
